The sessions

What you cover across the two days

  1. 01

    Discover Your Working Genius

Kim Bates Lecture, up to 2.5 hours of CE

The Working Genius model identifies the kinds of work that energise a person and the kinds that drain them. Applied to a dental team it explains a great deal about why certain projects stall and certain people burn out, and it gives you a language for assigning work deliberately.

What you will be able to do

    • Identify your own areas of working genius, competency and frustration
    • Assign work in a way that matches the person to the stage
  2. 02

HR Essentials 2.0: Annual Policy & Benefits Review

Kim Bates Lecture, up to 2.5 hours of CE

Building on HR Essentials 101, this session covers the annual review cycle: what has to be revisited each year, how to run a policy and benefits review properly, and how to keep the handbook a living document rather than something nobody has opened since it was written.

What you will be able to do

    • Run an annual policy and benefits review
    • Keep the employee handbook current and defensible
  3. 03

Mastering KPIs: The Story Behind the Numbers

Geri Gottlieb & Kim Bates Lecture, up to 3 hours of CE

Level 1 taught you which numbers to track. This session is about reading them. What a number is actually telling you, which two or three matter most in your practice right now, and how to present them to the doctor in a way that leads to a decision rather than a shrug.

What you will be able to do

    • Interpret trends rather than single data points
    • Present metrics to the doctor in a way that drives a decision
  4. 04

Lead Effective Team Meetings & Standard Operating Procedures

Summer Morrison & Geri Gottlieb Lecture, up to 3 hours of CE

Meetings and SOPs together, because they are the same problem. A practice that runs good meetings and writes things down does not depend on any one person remembering. This session covers building SOPs your team will actually use and keeping them current.

What you will be able to do

    • Build standard operating procedures the team will use
    • Connect meeting decisions to documented process
  5. 05

    Pearls & Impediments: Peer-to-Peer Learning

Shaida Haberlach & Tiffany Dalton Lecture, up to 2 hours of CE

The same format as Level 1 but with a room of managers who have all completed it, so the problems brought are further along and the solutions offered are more specific.

What you will be able to do

    • Work a current obstacle with peers at the same level
    • Leave with a specific next action
